The project started in the last years of the 20th century (1999), drawing inspiration from one of the themes that is undoubtedly part of human history: the pictorial representation of the female figure in art history. In this context, Polaroid instant film, with its imperfections and physicality, plays a fundamental role, serving as a bridge between past and present. To avoid contemporary stereotypes, I have exclusively used non-professional models—friends, next-door women, and students—deliberately excluding the professionalism of the image and all the “standardizations” it involves. All works, unique pieces, are created using large-format Polaroid film, 4 x 5 inches (primarily 59 and 79 Type), through the technique of image transfer and emulsion separation onto Arches 300gsm Satin-Finish 100% Cotton artist paper.
